Tony Santo graduated Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Illustration.
After freelancing for several years, he became Promotion Art Director for Billboard Magazine. There he used his diverse styles of illustration and design to boost sales revenue and promote trade conferences.
Tony joined Walt Disney Feature Animation as a clean-up animator in 1997, where he helped bring characters like Mushu, Koda, Stitch and Pacha to life. His credits include "Mulan," "Tarzan," "The Emperor's New Groove," "Lilo and Stitch," "Brother Bear" and "The Little Match Girl."
In September 2003, he became Associate Art Director at EA Sports, expanding his skill set by crossing from 2D animation into 3D video games. With "Madden NFL," "NCAA Football" and "Nascar: Chase for the Cup," Tony successfully merged cinematic storytelling with video games. While at EA, he developed a figure drawing class for EA University called “Awaken the Artist Within,” designed to expand the graphic vocabulary of staff artists.
Since 2009, Tony has been a storyboard artist and art director for a variety of clients in the advertising, animation and entertainment industry. Using traditional and digital media, Tony storyboards award-winning commercials for Bellator, Humira, Frontline, Cablevision, CBS, Plavix, "Ben 10: Omniverse," Discovery Channel and others.
In 2010 and 2011, Tony taught Digital Video and Sound as an adjunct professor at the College of Westchester, and painting to students in the Grumbacher Educational Workshop series.
Tony continues to work on his personal projects between assignments, one of which is illustrating Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol.”
Tony lives with his wife and kids, minutes from Manhattan and the Hudson river.
